Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

After pregnancy or significant weight gain or loss, the abdomen may begin to sag.  A tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure used to flatten the abdomen by removing fat and excess skin, and tightening the abdominal wall muscles to achieve a more toned appearance.  The best candidates for the procedure are those individuals that have localized fat deposits and loose skin that have not responded to diet and exercise.

A tummy tuck may be performed in our in-office accredited surgical suite or at the hospital, depending on the each individual patients preference and quality of health.

Obese patients who plan to lose weight should postpone the surgical procedure until they have reached their desired weight.

Panniculectomy

A panniculectomy procedure is for the removal of a large abdominal apron of fat and skin in obese patients most often due to hygiene problems. This procedure is performed at the hospital due to the extensive nature of the surgery.  This procedure is usually covered by most insurance carriers although preauthorization is required from most carriers prior to the surgical procedure to ensure specific policy guidelines are met.
